INDEPENDANCE DAY CELEBRATION

St. Paul’s Convent High School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

The programme commenced with the welcome of the dignitaries, followed by an introduction highlighting the significance of Independence Day and a prayer service for the nation. The Chief Guest, Ms. Diana Fernandes, was then formally introduced.

The moment of flag hoisting filled the atmosphere with pride and patriotism as the National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest. Everyone stood at attention and saluted the Tricolour with respect. The RSP Squad then presented a salute to the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, which echoed through the school campus with a strong sense of national pride. The dignitaries were then requested to take their seats.

The cultural segment began with a speech by the Head Girl of the Primary Section, Ms Milagres Rodrigues, who spoke eloquently about the importance of Independence Day and the responsibilities of young citizens. She was followed by Ms Shreeya Mungekar from the Secondary Section, who delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the values of freedom, unity and patriotism.

The programme continued with a vibrant patriotic dance performance by the Primary Section students. The young performers captivated the audience with their energetic presentation to patriotic songs, beautifully expressing their love for the nation.

The programme was a fitting tribute to the nation and a reminder of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and our responsibility as citizens of India.
